Game 16 vs Montreal

Instant Thoughts

On November 13th, 2016, Vincent Hinostroza, Jonathan Toews, and Patrick Kane formed a line halfway through the game and never looked back. Okay. That’s an overstatement, but I am excited. I enjoy watching Hinostroza play hockey, and I’m really going to enjoy watching him play hockey with Patrick Kane. This line was finally able to create time and space in the offensive zone for the players to operate. I’m excited to see this line play a full game together.

Corey Crawford was good again, making a number of tough saves. He’s been preventing more than a goal per game compared to a league average goalie facing the same shots. He’s carried Chicago through the beginning of the season. If the season ended today, Crawford would win the Vezina (if the GM’s voted properly).

Pretty good possession game for Chicago. They took charg in the second period and even stayed on the gas pedal for most of the third. It’s nice to see the Blackhawks not sit back and get shelled in shots in the third period.

This was probably Chicago’s best even strength game. Therefore, all thumbs up from me.
